3 – Electronic devices, including medical devices, with spare batteries removed or external (power banks).

Devices placed in checked baggage must be switched off. To prevent any accidental activation (power button too sensitive), their batteries must be removed and carried with you in the cabin.

Each spare battery, whether removed or external, must be individually protected to prevent short circuits. When possible, it must be placed in its original packaging, a plastic bag, or an individual protective envelope. If the battery is not in a protective case, please cover the terminals with non-conductive tape.

Lithium batteries can catch fire if they short-circuit, are damaged, poorly designed, or poorly assembled. Damaged, defective, or manufacturer-recalled devices and lithium batteries are not allowed on board. Please pack your devices and batteries carefully in checked baggage and handle batteries in the cabin with care. Button cell batteries and the devices that use them are not affected by these rules.

Devices equipped with lithium batteries ≤ 100 Wh (lithium ion) or ≤ 2 grams (lithium metal), or with dry batteries or nickel-metal hydride batteries, and their spare, removed, or external batteries.

Important Each passenger can travel with up to:

  • 15 battery-powered devices and,
  • 20 spare, removed, or external batteries.

If you would like to carry more, you must contact our customer service team or your travel agency in advance of your trip to request special transport authorization.
